What We Do
In 2001, Georgia Tech was one of nine institutions to receive a National Science Foundation (NSF) Institutional Transformation Award to establish the ADVANCE Professors Program, dedicated to developing systemic and institutional approaches that increase the representation and participation of women and minorities in academic STEM careers. This grant funded the program until 2008, when it became an official program at Georgia Tech, supported by Institute Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Through the ADVANCE Professors Program, Georgia Tech works to achieve its mission by:
- Advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Advising campus leadership on policy and structures
- Making data-driven recommendations for faculty retention, advancement, and satisfaction
